I had the pleasure of hosting a highly unique panel discussion at the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair - "Indie Watchmakers vs. Independent Brands – Trends & Trajectories."
The event brought together two major forces driving the new wave of Chinese watchmaking: independent watchmaker Qian Guobiao and the independent watch brand ZBIOLAND. Sharing the stage for an insightful dialogue, they explored the rise of Chinese independent watchmakers and brands, and examined how advancements in technology and craftsmanship are unlocking exciting new opportunities for the "Guochao" (China-Chic) watch industry!
Will Chinese independent watchmaking truly come into its own over the next five years? Time will tell.
